Spring Fair 2024!

When: Saturday June 1, 2024 from 10am-2pm (Rain or Shine)

Who: The Cody Fair is for everyone!

How you can get involved: Please volunteer for the event or donate to the attractions! Details below.

Why: The Cody Fair is a fun annual event put on by the FSA.  It is a very big, important fundraiser, supporting student enrichment.

WhatInflatables & Bouncy Castles, Sno Cones, Cotton Candy, Lunch, Lucky Dip, Duck Race, Raffles, Bake Sale, Cody Cookies, DJ and MORE!!!!

Volunteers Needed: Spring Fair URGENTLY need your help please as the fair is run entirely by volunteers!

We are asking every family to volunteer at least one hour of their time at the fair (can be a parent/guardian, grandparent). Please use this link to sign up today! Questions about volunteering can be directed to 

New Toy Donations Needed: To help make the Raffle and Lucky Dip attractions super fun for the kids, we are looking for new toys!

Please drop off new toys or other fun donations for the Raffle in the bin by the office. If you prefer to contribute to the raffle with a gift card (Mastermind Toys, Amazon, Costco, Canadian Tire), please email

Lucky Dip new toys should be around $5 each and can also be dropped off in a bin near the office by Friday May 24. If you prefer to e-transfer to support the Luck Dip, you can email Christine

Student Donations Needed for a NEW ATTRACTION! Tombola Jars.

This year we are introducing  – Tombola/ Lucky Jars. At this station prizes (jars filled with treats) are donated in advance, assigned a number, and put on display. At the fair children can use tickets to partake and draw a number, winning the corresponding numbered jar!

  • We are asking EACH student to contribute at least ONE prize for this station. See below for more details:

STEP 1:  Get a CLEAN JAR. Jam Jars, Pickle Jars and Mason Jars all are great. If you don’t have any at home, grab some from Dollarama or Bulk Barn.

STEP 2: Fill it with small, fun items that kids will love! Ex: School-safe candy (gumballs, nut-free chocolate, gummies), Trading Cards (Hockey, Baseball, Pokemon), Fidget Toys, Scrunchies, Nail Polish, Loot-bag type items.

STEP 3: Label your jar. Stick masking tape to the jar with your child’s name, and classroom number and they could WIN a prize!

STEP 4: Drop it off at school starting next week. We will have a box outside the school office where you can leave your donations.

  1.     The MOST tombola jars
  2.     The MOST CREATIVE tombola jar

Cody Cookies: We are asking the JK and SK families to contribute to the Famous Cody Cookies! Please consider baking a batch or two of our special Cody Cookies to contribute to the fair. All cookies need to be our specific size and recipe, so click on the link below to get all the top secret details! The recipe is easy and the cookies freeze very well, so you can bake them ahead of time, whenever is convenient for you. Maurice Cody Partnership with Extra Ed

As part of the Maurice Cody Junior Public School community for several years now, Extra Ed has run chess tournaments for our students, as well as provided wonderful in-class enrichment programming in financial literacy, chess, and coding.
Extra Ed is a social enterprise that provides a variety of programs to schools, organizations and communities across the Greater Toronto Area.  They are an approved vendor to multiple school boards, and an Educational Partner of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).  With a focus on providing high-quality, impactful programs, they offer a diverse range of extracurricular lunch and after school clubs, as well as in-class activities that teach essential life skills in meaningful and memorable ways.
Extra Ed is active in the restoration and preservation of the environment, and is unwavering in its commitment to ensuring that all children may participate in their programs, regardless of any family’s economic circumstances.

Grade 5 Bake Sale

Tomorrow, April 19th there will be bake sale for the Grade 5 Graduation. All students will have an opportunity to visit the bake sale to buy a treat. Each item will cost $1,00. The maximum a student will be allowed to spend is $5.00.

Maurice Cody Spring Fair will be on Saturday, June 1st. 

Grade 5 Chip Sale

Chip Sale this coming Friday! Students can buy a bag of chips for $2.00 to support our Grade 5 Graduation. Chips will be sold in classrooms at lunchtime. Cash Only.
